The Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers, Materials and Mechanics Division(JSME-MMD) is pleased to invite you to Asia-Pacific Conference for Materials and Mechanics 2009 (APCMM2009) to take place in Yokohama, Japan on November 13-16, 2009. APCMM follows the series of the Conferences of APCFS (Asia-Pacific Conference on Fracture and Strength) at Tsuchiura, Japan 1993, Kyungju, Korea 1996, Xi' an, China 1999, Sendai, Japan 2001, Jeju, Korea 2004 and Sanya, China 2006. APCFS was successfully organized by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Institute of Materials for Mechanical Engineers (CMES-IMME) and the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, Materials and Fracture Division (KSME-MFD) with JSME-MMD. APCFS continuously provided a prodigious opportunity for professors, engineers and other experts to exchange their latest information and knowledge of fracture, strength, integrity and reliability for materials and structures.

Fracture and strength of materials is continuously key issue for development of safety and secure society without any doubt. Researches on mechanics of materials are also contributing to various engineering innovation. Interests and research topics of the participants of APCFS and organizing societies are expanding by the reflecting of the demands of the society. In order to fit to the diversity of research topics of participants, we decided to start a new conference following to APCFS as APCMM. All researchers and engineers who are interesting in materials and mechanics are welcome to APCMM.
