Purpose of Publishing
Mechalife, Journal of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering, is a magazine edited for mechanical engineering students to inform latest activities of the Society of the Japan Mechanical Engineering with advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering and other related fields thought articles and pictures. One of our purposes to publish Mechalife is to encourage those readers to play active rolls in this Society in near future. We also hand out some editions to mechanical engineering students other then members to create relationships between the Society and non-members.
Contents
Mechalife contains advanced knowledge and technical education (sophistication) for mechanical engineering students to acquire. Mechalife will prepare these future generations to contribute in the improvement and development of the world with their skills from Mechalife. Contents of Mechalife are based on following six themes.
- Give dreams and acquire education
- Provide advanced knowledge
- Let students to exchange information (between students to student)
- Provide information of companies (between students and companies)
- Provide students' column (reports of students' activities and events)
- Provide information about the Society (such as events held by the Society)
Readers
- All members
- Non-members mechanical engineering students who received single issue from stuffs (such as college professor)
- Purchasers of major bookstores such as MARUZEN
Issue Dates
Four times a year: in March, June, September, and December (titled Journal of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers since 1997)
Organization
- Edited at the publishing committee of the First Publishing Committee
- Above committee is structured by a chairman, an organizer, and approximately 15 committees and correspondents from all over Japan. Those personnel are better to have experienced editorial director, member of the First Publishing Committee or student committee. In addition, some students may also join the committee.
Revise System
- If any question rose during revision, it should be decided whether the questioned matter should be published on Mechalife or not. Reviser should only correct errors and other miner
- Title should be decided from the point of view that it or it dose not draw attention of students (this should be considered by revise persons)
- Correction of expressions, rewrite, and/or addition of subheads are allowed only if such correction(s) make easier to read
- Revise should be conducted by committees of Mechalife editors
