本年２月、日本機械学会は"The Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics (TSB)"と
交流協定を締結しました。このことを記念し、また、今後の交流を促進すること
を目的として、バイオエンジニアリング部門英文ジャーナル(JBSE)において
"TSB-JSME joint issue"を発行します(2013年12月を予定)。

今回の特集号では、"orthopaedic-related topics"に焦点をあてています。

Call for Papers:
TSB-JSME Joint Issue on "Orthopaedic Biomechanics"

  Masao Tanaka, Osaka University, Japan

Aims and Scope:
  The Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics (TSB) and the Japan Society of 
Mechanical Engineers (JSME) have signed the Memorandum of Understanding 
for society level collaboration in February 2013, and concluded an 
agreement for the joint publication of Journal of Biomechanical Science 
and Engineering (JBSE). To celebrate this memorable partnership and to 
enhance future collaborations between these two societies, the TSB-JSME 
joint issue will be published December, 2013.
  This joint issue focuses on the "orthopaedic-related topics" which will 
cover the wide spectrum between biomedical engineering in clinical 
orthopaedics and basic science in orthopaedic biomechanics from whole 
musculo-skeletal system level to tissue/cell level. Papers from members 
of TSB and JSME are welcome, but not limited to just these two societies. 
All submitted papers are subjected to the same review process as those 
papers accepted for publication in the regular issues.

Publication Schedule:
  Submission of provisional title and authors: End of May, 2013
  Submission of manuscript for review: End of July, 2013
  Expected publication date: December, 2013

Guideline for Paper Submission:
# Provisional title and authors of a paper have to be sent by e-mail 
before to one of the editors as soon as possible but not later than the 
end of May, 2013.
