Introducing the JSME International Journal

The JSME International Journal provides advanced scientific and technological information for the mechanical engineering industry to facilitate the international exchange and transfer of technology. The Journal is published quarterly in three series in order to achieve these goals. Each series contains original papers, review papers and a selection of English translations of Japanese papers published in the Transactions of the JSME.

JSME International Journal provides
cutting-edge scientific and technological information

Modern industries are currently facing massive changes in responding to the demands of the times, such as the borderless economy, global environmental issues and an aging society. Since engineers and researchers must solve the many difficult technical problems related to such changes, they are always in need of the most recent information and knowledge of cutting-edge technology.

Advanced research and development in mechanical engineering and related fields have been continuously and actively conducted to create new industries for the 21st century in Japan. The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) is one of the leading professional societies in Japan and has a membership of more than 45,000. JSME is taking on the challenges of becoming a fully networked society that can respond to its members’ needs in a flexible and timely manner. JSME publishes a monthly English journal, the JSME International Journal, that offers the most up-to-date technical information on the latest advances in mechanical engineering to engineers and researchers around the world. Furthermore, JSME International Journal provides advanced scientific and technological information for the mechanical engineering industries to facilitate the international exchange and transfer of technology.

The JSME International Journal started in 1958 and has been holding its position as one of the most valuable sources of technical information on the research and development of mechanical engineering science and technology in Japan, Asia-Pacific regions and also all the world.

The JSME International Journal is published quarterly in three series: Series A: Solid Mechanics and Material Engineering, Series B: Fluids and Thermal Engineering, and Series C: Mechanical Systems, Machine Elements and Manufacturing. The editors of each series are responsible for soliciting high-quality papers for their series in the Journal. The Journal consists mainly of original papers that have been accepted after rigorous technical peer reviews, and also includes a selection of English translations of Japanese papers published in the transactions of the JSME. In addition, special review articles on recent research developments are solicited by the editors. Furthermore, the Journal encourages the publication of special issues for international conferences related to mechanical engineering. All the papers selected through preliminary screening are subjected to a peer review process. Once accepted, the papers are handled expeditiously and generally published much more promptly than in other comparable high-quality journals.

Since the JSME International Journal provides the opportunity to gain and present authentic and insightful scientific and technological information on the latest advances in mechanical engineering, it is a most valuable information source for mechanical engineers and researchers around the world. We are looking forward to your subscription to the JSME International Journal.
