To properly promote the globalization of the exchange of technological and academic information, the diversification of academic research in the field of mechanical engineering, and the fast dissemination of information, JSME International Journal will be published on-line. All the papers will be originally edited and published by the editorial committee of each division of JSME. Along with this change, the editorial committee of each division will handle all the procedures regarding the submission, review, and publication of papers for the on-line version using an electronic system. We believe that an on-line journal will be recognized as a prestigious international journal, and that the conversion of JSME International Journal to an on-line journal will help improve Impact Factor and circulation, and reduce publication cost. The deadline for accepting papers for possible publication in the current print version of JSME International Journal (Series A, B and C) is April 20, 2006. For more details regarding paper submission for special issues, which have been planned for publication in 2006, please refer to Instructions to Authors (deadline of submission, etc). Two on-line journals published by JSME The two divisions of JSME, Fluids Engineering Division and Thermal Engineering Division, have already adopted new titles and publication methods, and have just started their trial on-line publication.
