Welcome to the Bioengineering Division of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers!
The Bioengineering Division was founded in 1985 within the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. The mission of this division is to foster the advancement, communication, and application of bioengineering to benefit society.
The Bioengineering Division hosts two annual conferences, Bioengineering Conference and Biofrontier Conference. Bioengineering Conference is usually held in May or June, while Biofrontier Conference is in December or January.
The official journal is Journal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering (JBSE). JBSE is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal approved by Asian-Pacific Association for Biomechanics (APAB), the Bioengineering Division of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME-BED), the Korean Society of Biomechanics (KSB), and the Taiwanese Society of Biomechanics (TSB). JBSE publishes peer-reviewed articles on biomechanical science and engineering. The journal publishes Regular Articles and Reviews.
