Monorail for Steep Slope MONORACK M-1

Along the steeply sloped Rias coastline of the Seto Inland Sea, where mandarin orange orchards are placed, transportation of the harvested fruit was a challenge as it could only be completed using manpower. The monorail transporter “MONORACK M-1” was developed for these steep slopes by Japan Karitoriki Kogyo (current Nikkari Co.) in 1966 to overcome this problem. To the best of our knowledge, this monorail is regarded as the first in the world to be utilized in commercial agriculture. The machine greatly contributed to labor-saving and efficient fruit tree cultivation. It is now also used for other purposes, such as landslide disaster recovery, and the technology is being supplied overseas.
