Journal of Fluid Science and Technology (JFST) is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal that aims for contributing to the development of fluids engineering by publishing Regular Articles of basic and applied studies on flow physics and fluids engineering. JFST provides its global authors with full peer-review services to select original, innovative and important work by theoretical, experimental and numerical approaches.
The editorial committee invites the submission of original papers of a broad range of topics spanning turbulent flows, multiphase flows, non-Newtonian fluid flows, functional fluid flows, bio-fluid flows, quantum and molecular flows, wave, flow acoustics, flow-induced vibration, free-surface flows, cavitation flows, fluid machinery, methods for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental fluid dynamics (EFD).
The editorial committee will make all efforts for promoting strictly fair and speedy review for submitted articles. All JFST papers will be available for free at the website of J-STAGE (https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/browse/jfst), which is hosted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Thus papers can be accessed worldwide by lead scientists and engineers. In addition, authors can express their results variedly by high-quality color drawings and pictures.
JFST is an international journal published by the Fluids Engineering Division in the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME). JSME had been publishing Bulletin of the JSME (1958-1986) and JSME International Journal (1987-2006) by the continuous volume numbers. Considering the recent circumstances of the academic journals in the field of mechanical engineering, JSME reorganized the journal editorial system. Namely, JSME discontinued former International Journals and projected new publications from the divisions belonging to JSME. The Fluids Engineering Division acted quickly among all divisions and launched the premiere issue of JFST in January 2006.

The 7th International Conference on Jets, Wakes and Separated Flows (ICJWSF2022) (sponsored by Nihon University ICJWSF2022 Executive Committee, sponsored by JSME) was held by online from March 15th to 17th, 2022. The conference was held continuously in Toba (2005), Berlin (2008), Cincinnati (2010), Nagoya (2013), Stockholm (2015) and Cincinnati (2017). This time we count the 7th. This conference was planned and operated by the research group (A-TS05-23) "Jets, wakes, and Separated flows" of the Fluid Engineering Division of JSME. The theme of the conference was the exploration and advanced application of jet, wake and detachment phenomena, and research on the exploration of various functions of shear flow and its application to advanced science and technology were reported. This conference consisted of 6 keynote speeches and 98 general lectures, and was attended by approximately 140 people.
Papers will be solicited from the papers presented at ICJWSF2022. The purpose is to review and publish the submitted papers (about 20 or more) and disseminate information both domestically and internationally as a special issue.

The Nineteenth International Conference on Flow Dynamics (ICFD2022), in the annual series hosted by the Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, will be held on November 9 - 11 in 2022. The objectives of this conference are to explore new horizons in science by discussing and exchanging information related to the most advanced scientific fields and to cutting edge technologies in Flow Dynamics. The ICFD is now recognized by world researchers, engineers and academicians as one of the biggest and the most important international conferences in the field of Flow Dynamics. This conference is composed of 3 Plenary Lectures, 1 General Session, 24 Organized Sessions (ex: “Flow Dynamics and Combustion Technology of Hybrid Rocket Propulsion” session, “Supercritical Fluid” session and “Student Session” etc..). The number of presentations and participations are more than 400 and 500, respectively. Selected papers are to be published as the special issues of “Journal of Fluid Science and Technology”. The selection will be based on the recommendation of editorial board and around 15 excellent papers will be made a careful selection from 150 papers which are associated with Fluid Dynamics.
2022年11月9日（水）から11日（金）にかけて仙台国際センターにおいて、ハイブリッド形式にて「第19回流動ダイナミクスに関する国際会議」”Nineteenth International Conference on Flow Dynamics (ICFD2022)” (東北大学流体科学研究所ICFD実行委員会主催，JSME協賛)が開催されます。本会議はナノスケールからメガスケールまでの流動現象を網羅し、基礎から応用まで展開する流動ダイナミクスを扱う国際学会として毎年開催され、今回は第19回を迎えます。今年の会議は、基調講演、専門分野別オーガナイズドセッション，学生セッション，流体科学研究所公募共同研究フォーラム等から構成されています。本会議で発表された論文のうち流体工学関連の論文150編（予定）から特に内容の優れた論文約15編程度を精選して、特集号として国内外に情報発信を行うことを目的としております。
