The membership is automatically renewed on an annual basis.
According to Article 10 of the detailed rules, the annual membership fee from January to December each year shall be paid by the end of December in the previous year. Even if the membership fee has not been paid by the end of December, the membership will be renewed automatically.
As specified in the articles of association/detailed rules, membership cancel requires the submission of a notification to JSME.
In the case of using Direct Debit for membership fees, please submit the cancel notice by the end of November. Please note that we cannot stop payment when we receive cancel request in December.
When we receive membership cancel request after the following January, it cannot retroactive to the previous year. In such case, membership will continue until December of the year.
Please send the cancel notice with your membership card in writing. It is also accepted that the membership card will be returned at a later date after sending only the cancellation notice by e-mail or fax. Please note that membership cancellation cannot be accepted by phone.
Please note that even in the case of midterm cancellation, refund of the membership fee cannot be made.
Regarding the cancel notice without paying the membership fee, acceptance of the cancellation notice and cancellation procedures shall be suspended until payment of the full membership fee for the cancellation year is confirmed. Please remit the unpaid membership fee for the year as soon as possible.
The cancellation notice can be written in any format. Please specify membership number, Name and reason for cancel/cancellation date. The following form is also available. In the case of losing your membership card, please notice that.
